Remembering the River stone

I was complaining about women one day and how it never seems to work out; when my good friend Jaie responded with this amazing piece of advice. I try my best to live up to it:
"They come and go, buddy. The best thing is to let them flow through like water through stones, each taking their little bit, but leaving an ever so subtle impression upon your shape. Like the river stone, if you let the water pass, you will be rounded and wise after time. A word of warning, don't try and stop or hold them. Dams and waterfalls are only temporary and bound to wear down.

Women are like water indeed. They can be soothing and peaceful, beauty shone in their crystal clear faces; the pure sky and healing light of the sun reflected to those who behold them. They can also be fickle mistresses, drowning, crushing, freezing, battering anything foolish enough to trust a calm facade when a storm is just beyond the horizon.

So remember the river stone. Let the river pass by and through, and maybe someday a particularly curious current will catch you up."
