This week has been one of the best weeks in a long long long long time. To start it off i got a new job one that will give me the hours i need and at a decent pay rate too. So hopefully i will be able to save up and move out of this state by the end of the year just like i planned. then on wednesday i was lurking on twitter when i saw that Jeremythebug was giving away tickets to the Lights show In Ft Lauderdale the next day. I entered not thinking i would win because he had tweeted it about 5 minutes before. Yet some how i DID win. So i called up my friend tony and we made plans. We drove down to Miami at 4am got there at around 8:30am. Went to South beach to see what all the hype was about. It was alright, the water was GORGEOUS, and the people were all super sexy. but the shops and stuff werent all that great and only a small strip was nice the rest all looked like ghetto.
Oh oh oh right, the night before the concert right after i found out i won tickets to her show i went out and bought a Flip MinoHD so i could record stuff in Miami and the Lights show. They normally cost about $229 but i was able to get one for $179. pretty stoked about that. Anywho back to my story... South beach was alright. Got loads of free stuff because there was a huge Super Bowl party going on. Also got a "I WAS IN MIAMI BITCH" T-shirt and leopard speedo shorts. We left Miami at about 2:30pm and drove an hour north to Ft Lauderdale for the Lights concert. I'd go into detail but im sure you really dont want to hear it so let me just say this: Lights is as amazing and sweet as her music is. She is beautiful both on the outside AND the inside. She truly cares about her fans, even the whiny baby ones (yea that would be me...) and will take time out of her busy schedule to comfort them. Her sound mixer was amazing. The sound quality was almost studio quality. Lights commanded the stage like a pro. Her smile brightening the room even when it was completely dark. After she played tony and i left the stage area and went over near the merch tables to hangout for a bit since we didnt really want to see Owl City.. We ended up talking to this girl we had seen earlier who actually knew the drummer in Lights's band. So he came over to hangout too. We didnt get to see lights after the concert at her merch table because Tony was tired and still had a 5 hour drive a head of him, So we left.
Then today was my official first day at my new job. I had a blast, since the restaurant hasn't opened yet and they are still training the cooks i got to try almost the ENTIRE menu. And i have to say, their food is AMAZING!
Now the last bit that really made my whole week complete is today i got an email from a friend asking me if id like to film an indie film on valentines day. It's kind of a long drive but i've been wanting to work with him for years now, so I dont mind in the least. Super excited about it, the script looks solid and i know that he will make the msot of this film. Well that pretty much sums up my fantastically amazing week. I really dont want it to end but I'm looking forward to what next week might hold.
